Analyst Notes:

are our commentary on the interpretation of Yoshinobu’s responses. We also have translated the interpreters translations so you can maybe gauge where some information was lost. Finally, we finish with a grade of the interpreter.

[Interpreter Grade]: ? See Below

Kirsten: High early in the outing, but how are you able just to manage yourself to be able to get through six innings tonight?

[Translation]: Pitch count got a little high, however how did you pitch through 6 innings?

[Translation]: With runners on base, I just pitched with determination. Even in a pinch, I just made sure not to let them come home, unfortunately the pitch count got up but I pitched with determination and felt I held them down.

Hiro: Although, you know, because of my pitch count was high and also having a runners on bases, but I was focusing on just because I get just through the inning. That's all.

Analyst Notes: I like how Yoshi mentioned twice he pitched with determination and how he said he didn’t want runners to get home. Very poetic. Not conveyed at all by the translator.

Reporter: How would you describe the job that this pitching staff has done just to keep this team in games night in and night out both starters and relievers?

HIro: I'm sorry.

Reporter: Describe just how this pitching staff has helped this team through games throughout the year, starters and relievers.

[Translation]: Um, make the game in that meaning, the starter’s role-part what do you think plus the relievers, what do you think about their work?

[Translation]: First and foremost the most important thing is to limit runs to a minimum. Unfortunately, they scored first, but we came back and protected the lead and threw like that which was good. As far as the relievers, Phillips is coming back and everybody seems to be coming back so I feel they are very dependable.

Hiro: I think, you know, My focus is just like eliminating the giving up of runs. Regarding relievers, we have Evans back and then it's getting stronger.

Analyst Notes: He said Phillips not Evans which should be maintained in translation. Other details are not conveyed because translators should translate linearly and write the details down.

Reporter: He's throwing 100 pitches or more in his last three starts. How does he feel physically at the end of these games?

[Translation]: You have had a couple games where the pitch count has gotten over 100, how is your body condition right now?

[Translation]: Yes, there is not a really big problem. I am diligently taking my recovery and getting ready for my next start. I am communicating with the pitching coaches. They are really helping me prepare for my next start with a lot of confidence.

Hiro: During a preparation between me and him, I've been communicating with pitching coaches and also, you know, because we're focusing on recovering from that each outing.

Deputy Dorado: Last one guys.

Reporter: Do you change your approach at all pitching with so many runners on base like during your outing?

[Translation]: With runners on base, is always different. LIke today but other games are different, but do you pitch differently with runners on base?

[Translation]: Yes, in a pinch I just relax and make sure not to let the runners get home and focus on each hitter and at bat. That is how I throw.

HIro: I'm just focusing on facing that the guy in that bat at that moment then try and not to let the guys come back into home.

Analyst Notes: Nice job saying not letting guys get home. It is ok and poetic to be literal. This is how Yoshi thinks and talks.

[Interpreter Grade]: D-, translations should be written down and conveyed linearly. Literal is also better to maintain the player's personality and voice.
