Reporter: You can just talk to us about how the outing went, how things felt today?
[Translation]: About today’s mound, overall how did you feel?
[Translation]: First off, pitching two innings without injury was the best thing today. The second was better than the first. Playing a competitive game and gaining some feel was very important.
Hiro: I think that was good things.I grind through the two innings. And then overall I felt good and then first inning, you know, there's a little…I wasn’t feeling that right but the second inning much better than first inning. And then also there was takeaways from today's outing.
[Translation]: Thank you. How was your first mound in a while?
[Translation]: Obviously the second inning was better than the first, my feel got better throughout the outing and definitely felt different from a live BP. Definitely felt like it has been a while.
[Translation]: You held back a little bit?
[Translation]: No, not really I got more serious as the game went on.
[Translation]: After you finished pitching, you threw some more in the bullpen. Did you not throw enough today?
[Translation]: That was the plan originally to get to the right pitch count menu.
[Translation]: It looks like your fastest pitch was 95.7 mph was there a reason your velocity did not get so high?
[Translation]: I threw a bullpen before the game and it went well and as I threw I got a better feel and put more strength into my pitches.
[Translation]: You got some strikeouts with the split, was there a difference in the pitch path?
[Translation]: There were some good pitches and pitches that didn’t go how I wanted so as I get more repetitions there are some things I still need to improve.
[Translation]: What is the thing you focused on most today and what was the best part of today?
[Translation]: I hadn’t played in a while so to get game feel again was important and there were some things I forgot that I naturally remembered as the game went on. It was a good 2 innings I think.
Reporter: 。。
[Translation]: You didn’t have your best…
[Translation]: Yes, I wasn’t my best. I need to improve against lefties I think.
[Translation]: What did you think about the ABS?
[Translation]: I thought it was very accurate. It was my first time. It was a good experience I think.
[Translation]: The Dodgers are having issues right now with their pitching, I think the team wants you back as soon as possible, how do you feel about that?
[Translation]: Yes, we are all fighting and I am not being rushed, rather they are telling me it is ok to take my time, so it is more like I want to come back quickly more than the team wants. I just want to manage my work and follow the plan.
Reporter: 。。
[Translation]: The next step is another start in the minors?
[Translation]: Yes, I think I will throw at least one more game.
Reporter:How do you feel being back out in front of a crowd? We had a lot of Dodgers fans out here too, just being back in front of people. How was the atmosphere?
[Translation]: Today in this stadium and support with this many Dodgers fans?
[Translation]: It has been a while for me to throw in front of fans so it is definitely a joy for me and I feel strongly about coming back as soon as possible.
Hiro: You know, because it's been a while since I have been pitching in that kind of atmosphere and it was great support, yeah that made me encouraged and want to go to the big league as soon as possible.
[Interpreter Grade]: No grade. This was a minor league rehab start so no real critique but this is more appropriate to the level of Hiro. |
